The real women behind the Pin-up paintings revealed for the first time

Anyone who is familiar with the pin-up culture and the popular cheesecake paintings, which were a huge hit in the ’50s, will know the works of Gil Elvgren.

The famous cheesecake paintings featured 1950s women with curvy figures, looking attractive and showing their stockings.
Most of the pin-up girls were an invention of the artist’s creativity, but recently it has been revealed that the Elvgren’s artworks were based on pictures of real women.
