ABANDONED GAS STATIONS MAKE FOR INCREDIBLE PHOTOGRAPHY

Munich-based photographer Robert Götzfried travelled through the southern U.S. states, from Virginia through Tennessee, and captured abandoned gas stations along his journey for his series, ‘Fill’er Up’.
Götzfried says most of the gas stations were shut down due to financial reasons, with some sitting untouched for decades! ‘I assume they will sit there until a hurricane or something tears them down’, he says. While many of us would simply drive past these crumbling structures, Götzfried allows us to take a closer look at them and encourages us to reflect on what is normally overlooked in life.
